Mt.Hachibuse is located on the other side of the alps in Matsumoto city. It is actually car accessible up to very close to the top of this mountain, but we hike from the bottom! The hike starts from Tobira Onsen. Walking in a forest with running stream by the side of trail, it is beautiful green in spring and colorful foliage in autumn. If you are lucky, you see a tiny chipmunk looking for foods. The last climb is a bit steep zigzagging up. The top view including whole north alps outlook, central alps, south alps and Mt.Fuji. is absolutely stunning. Onsen is an option when we come back.
